Model Detail
xAI: Grok 3 Mini Beta
—xAI: Grok 3 Mini Beta is a large language model released by xAI. And supports text->text inputs.
xAI: Grok 3 Mini Beta is priced at $0.3/M input tokens and $0.5/M output tokens. Operationally the model offers a 131K-token context window, which matters when sizing it for prompt-heavy or latency-sensitive workloads. At this input rate the model sits in the commodity tier and is suitable for high-volume workloads where per-call cost dominates the decision.
The published knowledge cutoff is 2025-02-28, so newer events will not be reflected in zero-shot answers without retrieval.
xAI: Grok 3 Mini Beta is best fit for general-purpose chat and instruction-following workloads, and high-volume batch jobs where per-call cost dominates the budget. Treat this as a starting matrix rather than a benchmark verdict — the right deployment usually depends on the specific evaluation suite that mirrors your workload.

Structured Features Overfit Where Random Features Grok
arXiv:2609.15047v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Xu, Vardi and Safran (ICML 2026) prove that over-parameterized ridge regression over an unstructured random Gaussian feature map groks, with the delay between memorization and generalization growing as $1/\lambda$ in the weight decay. We show that on a

To Grok Grokking: Provable Grokking in Ridge Regression
arXiv:2601.19791v4 Announce Type: replace Abstract: We study grokking, the onset of generalization long after overfitting, in a classical ridge regression setting. We prove end-to-end grokking results for learning over-parameterized linear regression models using gradient descent with weight decay.
