arXiv:2610.27937v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Effective democratic deliberation is vital for civic engagement and the health of legislative institutions. However, assessing parliamentary discourse quality is traditionally done using expert-scored, theory-based codebooks (CBs), which are rigid, lab
arXiv:2609.19616v4 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Measuring complexity from a model's own code is biased by failure: a hard prompt can produce a short, broken program that looks simple. We instead score each prompt's structure on six dimensions from the prompt alone, never from generated code or t
arXiv:2610.22985v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Long-context decoding in large language models (LLMs) is increasingly bottlenecked by the memory and computation required to attend over an ever-growing Key-Value (KV) cache at each autoregressive step. Although token-level sparse attention reduces t
arXiv:2610.23727v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Conventional sleep staging provides a coarse-grained representation that obscures within-stage depth variation. We developed ECG-SDI, a single-lead electrocardiography (ECG) framework for continuous sleep-depth profiling and digital biomarker extract
arXiv:2610.16717v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Does a large language model have a self, and if so, of what kind? We separate two functional levels familiar from biology: a self-index, which distinguishes one's own material from external material and shapes processing, as corollary discharge doe
arXiv:2606.28573v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Modern machine learning models are trained by optimizing high-dimensional non-convex empirical risk functions. Such cost functions can have a multitude of local optima and yet, gradient-based optimization appears to converge to near-global optima.
arXiv:2610.21795v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Sky-image irradiance forecasting is dominated by a two-stage design: a video-prediction model forecasts future sky frames, and a separately trained regressor maps those frames to irradiance. We propose a single-stage alternative that co-denoises the
arXiv:2610.13128v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Question answering over large heterogeneous document collections requires first finding the right passages and then reading them, yet current retrieval-augmented agents give one model both kinds of tools and let it schedule itself. We present KnowForge
arXiv:2610.13296v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: High-precision retrieval over external knowledge bases is essential for LLM agents to operate effectively. However, existing Information Retrieval (IR) research primarily optimizes query-side retrievers (e.g., ColBERT, BGE) and generators (e.g., Self
arXiv:2610.08420v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: We establish a polynomial sample complexity separation between symmetry-aware and symmetry-agnostic feature learning. We study growing-rank multi-index models with high-dimensional Gaussian covariates in $\mathbb{R}^d$ and $r=\Theta(d^\delta)$ teacher
arXiv:2610.03651v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Dense-retrieval services must switch among embedding-prefix dimensions and index bit rates as latency, quality, and memory budgets change. Tuning a quantizer separately for each rate gives the best quality, but the retrieval tier then holds several cod
arXiv:2610.01712v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: In-context learning (ICL) enables a pretrained model to infer a task from demonstrations without updating its parameters. While much of the existing theory focuses on linear target functions, in this paper we study nonlinear cases by comparing two one-

The Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen (ECAS) provides a robust metric f
arXiv:2609.36326v2 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) hands the user's query to whoever hosts the corpus. Normalized star ratings and text-sentiment scores are treated as noisy measures of latent review vale
arXiv:2609.27199v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Sparse communication in decentralized zeroth-order learning requires compatible peer-state coordinates. We characterize this one-hop condition and develop \textsf{ZO-COSMO}, coupling two-query estimation with average-preserving masked consensus using $
arXiv:2609.22991v2 Announce Type: replace-cross Abstract: Apple Silicon machines with large unified memory make it possible to hold large tensors on a desktop GPU. However, we found that PyTorch's Metal Performance Shaders (MPS) backend silently returns wrong results for batched matrix multiplicatio
Brace yourself: It turns out AI is being optimized for cheating. OpenAI’s agents hacked into Hugging Face to get the answers to a cybersecurity test. Next, they solved a prestigious math problem (or just stole from two top mathematicians’ answer sheets). Anthropic’s models have also hacked into othe
arXiv:2609.26199v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: A large graph is often available only in part: a crawl stopped by its budget, a panel, a partial dump. When the sampled fraction $s$ is known by design the total edge count follows from $\hat e=e_s/s^2$ and no model is needed. We treat the case where $
arXiv:2609.22981v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: We present a dual-locking method for securing trained neural networks that combines key-driven index permutation with PIN-based watermarking based on Sparse Quantization Index Modulation (QIM). Cryptographic randomness is introduced by independently

arXiv:2609.14733v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Hybrid Deep Learning for equity index forecasting is limited by three problems: propagation of OHLCV noise into derived technical indicators (TIs), channel-indiscriminate multi-scale decomposition that conflates heterogeneous frequency signatures, and
arXiv:2607.19526v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Recent work has argued normatively, on synthetic data, that evaluating survival models by discrimination alone (concordance index) yields systematically misleading model comparisons, because the metric ignores calibration and time-dependent accurac
arXiv:2609.04298v3 Announce Type: replace Abstract: Evaluating agents on the growing number of agentic benchmarks is challenging because they often require complex environments and agent integrations. We introduce Harbor Adapters, a unified evaluation infrastructure for agentic benchmarks. Our work
arXiv:2609.10879v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Recent work has identified incremental learning in shallow networks trained on single-index and multi-index models.
